Integrations Overview
Connect Ascent to the third-party services your MSP relies on for monitoring, email, payments, and product sourcing. All integrations are managed from a single hub.
Overview
The Integrations module lets you:
- Connect Level RMM to sync assets, alerts, and endpoints
- Process client payments online through Stripe
- Send and receive email through Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or a generic SMTP/IMAP mail server
- Sync products and subscriptions from Pax8
- Send real-time event notifications to your own applications with outbound Webhooks
- See at a glance which services are currently connected
Navigate to the Integrations hub
Go to Admin → Integrations (/admin/integrations). The hub is available to Owners and Admins, and to any role granted the Integrations: Manage permission.
The hub displays one card per integration. Each card shows:
- The integration name and a short description
- A connection status badge — Connected, Not Connected, or Loading while status is being checked
- A Configure button that opens that integration's configuration page
Available integrations
| Integration | What it does | Configuration page |
|---|---|---|
| Level RMM | Sync assets, alerts, and endpoints | Level RMM |
| Stripe | Accept payments from your clients | Stripe |
| Microsoft 365 | Email, plus optional tenant directory & license sync | Microsoft 365 |
| Google Workspace | Send and receive email through a Gmail mailbox | Google Workspace |
| SMTP/IMAP | Manual email server configuration | SMTP/IMAP |
| Pax8 | Sync products and subscriptions from Pax8 | Pax8 |
| Webhooks | Send real-time event notifications to your own apps | Webhooks |
Each card's Configure button links to a dedicated setup page where you enter credentials, test the connection, and adjust that integration's settings. See the linked pages for setup details.
How connection status is determined
The status badge on each card reflects whether the integration is set up for your organization:
- Level RMM, Stripe, and Pax8 show Connected when an integration of that type has been added for your organization.
- Microsoft 365 shows Connected when an OAuth-connected mailbox is configured.
- Google Workspace shows Connected when an OAuth-connected Gmail mailbox is configured.
- SMTP/IMAP shows Connected when either outbound (SMTP) or inbound (IMAP) email settings have been configured.
If you have not finished setup for an integration, its card shows Not Connected.
Email integrations
Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and SMTP/IMAP all configure the mailbox Ascent uses to send notifications and (optionally) to create tickets from inbound email. They share the same underlying email configuration, so you typically use one of them rather than several. Setup options include the from address and name and whether to create tickets from email. See the Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and SMTP/IMAP pages for details.
Permissions
| Capability | Requirement |
|---|---|
| View and manage integrations | Integrations: Manage permission (granted to Owner and Admin roles by default) |
Changes to integrations — creating, updating, toggling, and deleting them — are recorded in the audit log (Admin → Audit Logs).
Tips
- Connect Level RMM first. As the platform's primary differentiator, Level RMM drives asset and alert sync, so setting it up early populates much of your asset data. See the Level RMM page for the setup wizard and client/group mapping.
- Use a dedicated email mailbox for Ascent rather than a personal account, so notification and inbound-ticket traffic is easy to identify and manage.
- Review the audit log after credential changes to confirm the update was recorded and applied.
