Profile
Manage your own account details and security settings inside the Client Portal. The profile page is organized into two tabs: Profile and Security.
Overview
From your portal profile you can:
- Update your display name and phone number
- Review your company, title, and mobile number on file
- Set up two-factor authentication with an authenticator app
- Register security keys or passkeys
- View and regenerate your account recovery codes
The top of the page shows your name, your email address, and an avatar with your initial. If an administrator is currently viewing your account, a notice appears explaining that any changes you make will affect the real account.
Navigate to Profile
Open the Client Portal and select Profile from the portal navigation (/portal/profile).
Profile tab
Account Information
This card shows read-only details that are managed by your MSP:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Company | The client/company your portal account belongs to |
| Title | Your job title (shown only when set) |
| Mobile | Your mobile number (shown only when set) |
To have any of these values changed, contact your MSP.
Edit Profile
Use the Edit Profile form to update the details you control:
| Field | Editable | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | Your display name (required) |
| No | Shown for reference only — "Contact support to change your email address" | |
| Phone | Yes | Optional contact phone number |
- Update the Name and/or Phone fields.
- Click Save Changes.
A confirmation message appears when the update succeeds.
Security tab
Password
The Password section shows a Change Password button that opens a form for your Current Password, New Password (minimum 8 characters), and Confirm New Password. The new password and confirmation must match.
To set a new password, use the Forgot password link on the portal login screen instead. It emails a reset link, and the reset form sets your new password. This is the supported way to change your portal password whether or not you remember the old one.
Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA / MFA) adds a verification step in addition to your password. The Security tab manages three components.
Authenticator App
Use an app like Google Authenticator or Authy.
- Next to Authenticator App, click Enable.
- Scan the displayed QR code with your authenticator app, or enter the shown secret manually.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your app and click Verify.
- When 2FA is enabled, your recovery codes are displayed — save them before continuing.
The status badge shows Enabled or Disabled. To turn it off, click Disable and enter your password to confirm.
Security Keys & Passkeys
Register hardware security keys or device biometrics (passkeys) as another way to verify your identity.
- Click Add Key.
- Follow your browser/device prompt to create the credential.
- When prompted, enter a name for the key.
Registered keys are listed with the date added and, if applicable, when they were last used. To remove a key, click the trash icon next to it and confirm.
Recovery Codes
Recovery codes let you sign in if you lose access to your authenticator or security key. This section appears once two-factor authentication is enabled and shows how many codes remain.
- After enabling 2FA (or after regenerating), the codes are displayed once. Use Copy Codes to copy them, then click I've Saved These.
- To get a fresh set, click Regenerate and enter your password. Generating new codes invalidates all existing codes.
Each recovery code can be used only once.
Tips
- Store recovery codes somewhere safe and offline — they are shown in full only at the moment they are generated.
- Adding a security key or passkey gives you a phishing-resistant second factor in addition to (or instead of) an authenticator app.
- Email address changes are handled by your MSP for security; open a support request if your address needs to change.
